Dominatrix Bereavement by Duncan Trussel

A tongue-in-cheek look at one man’s exploration of BDSM following the death of his mother

In my meanderings online, as things do, one thing leads to the next and I found my way to a hilarious video.

Given the seriousness of the subject—death of the man’s mother, I wasn’t expecting humour.  Duncan turns to a dominatrix when is unable to cope with the loss of his mother.  Funnily enough, my own evanescence of submissive feelings came to out after the death of mine…so I expected a kind of sincere, deep, introspective look into loss and D/s.

What I got was laughter, my own, instead.  What better therapy is there than that?

Follow this link for the video.

Separately, I have begun “interviewing” therapists to find one I am comfortable working with in plumbing the dark byways of my emotional landscape.  I bring it up, because she too referred to humour in my life, telling me that my sense of humour was healing, and that it would make it easier for us to proceed.  She too used humour when she said a few minutes later to something I had joked about, “Hey!  You’re messing with my head.  Don’t mess with your therapist’s head.”

I think I probably need to be at least as serious in my search for a therapist as I was for a Domme.  May they all be as good at unlocking my inner workings as Mistress is at “kissing me with a whip.”

  1. If you aren’t familiar with this website, you might check it out. You can look for a therapist by city/state (though I am unclear if you are living in the States now or not). You can also filter the results by insurance type. I might also recommend that you find a “kink friendly” therapist, someone who understands the life style. Many such people exist it is just finding the courage to ask. Wishing you the best of luck in this endeavor.
